Here are a few articles about toner scams and how to protect your company from these criminals.

Local Chamber of Commerce Hit by Toner Scam: A local Chamber of Commerce reported that it had fallen victim to a toner scam. They received shipment and an invoice for printer products they never intended to order.

The reason: deceptive telemarketing tactics. The chamber received a call from an out-of-state company that did not clearly identify itself before soliciting an order. Thinking that this was a courtesy call by their local supplier, an unsuspecting employee agreed to the order.

Scam Alert: Toner Pirates Hitting Again: They misrepresent themselves as local companies or national suppliers. Some even say they are working for us (which they are not)! The deals they offer can cost you a lot – sometimes 10 times the actual price of quality supplies. Companies that fall victim to these scams are invoiced sometimes thousands of dollars for supplies they do not need.
